I just made this super awesome binder of reference material. The goal was to make a one-stop shop for tables that I might need while running Old-School Essentials. I'm starting a sandbox campaign soon and I wanted everything in one place so that I'm not looking for books. It's either in the binder and I find it quickly or I make something up.
The binder itself is this cool flexible binder. All the pages that I put in it, I put in sheet protectors. Here's the contents in order of appearance:
Old-School Essentials Advanced Fantasy Reference Booklet — I only grabbed a handful of pages that I thought would be useful while running a game.
Mythic Game Master Emulator 2nd ed. — My plan is to use Mythic as both a co-GM and for running things solo. I'm going to be running two groups in this sandbox and I decided that I wanted to play too. So, I'm going to play a third group of PCs with Mythic as the GM. I grabbed the rules summary section of the book along with most of the tables.
The Perilous Tables — These are all the tables from The Perilous Wilds. There's some good stuff in there including a random dungeon generator that I'll probably use when I'm soloing.
UNE, The Universal NPC Emulator (rev.) — I don't know if this is going to be fast enough to use when running for others, but I think it will work well when I'm soloing. There's also an NPC conversation generator in there that I'm interested to try out.
Knave 2nd ed. — All the tables. There's so many good ones. I'm planning on using the name tables as my primary name generator. I put a post-it on that page that sticks out, so I can find it fast.
It's probably a bit over stuffed. I kinda expect to reduce some things as I figure out how I use it in actual play. If there's things I find I'm missing, it's possible that I might pull in some stuff. But really most of the other tables I have feel like they are more suited for prepping rather than playing.
